My Anosmia and The Things My Designated Nose Does For Me Series
As someone with #anosmia (missing my sense of smell) I’ve realized I need help with some of the most RANDOM things.
For example, I’ll have a problem if I want to wear my favorite blouse, but can’t remember if I washed it. I’m pretty good at not staining my clothes so most of my clothes will “look clean” but I can’t tell if it “smells clean.”
This is where my “Designated Nose” or DN comes in. I’ll be holding my clothes up to their face while asking them:
“Hey, can you tell me if this smells bad?”
I’m lucky my DN is always helpful and doesn’t mind smelling my possibly dirty tees and socks. Side Note: I feel so bad whenever my stuff does turn out being stinky. Oops! I have pets so the chances of that occurring increase significantly.
Oh well.
What about you? Do you have a DN? Or…are YOU somebody’s nose? Let me know in the comments below.
With Love,
